Meteo France provides one of the better, more reliable general weather forecasts for the area. We realise that weather forecasting is not an exact science, and trying to predict a chaotic system where there's a little corner where the ocean meets the land near the mountains is pretty tricky, but these guys get it right more often than not.
Magic Seaweed is probably the most accessible surf report out there, with an easy to understand overview and in-depth charts available. They tend to disagree with windguru about wind direction quite a lot and, because this is the real world, swell direction, magnitude and period is often very different from what you see out the window. It's no substitute for live webcams on the day (check out ours and the links below) but will help you choose between more beer the evening before and dawn patrol (for those of us who have to choose...). Also very useful for long term trend data as they have decades of back-data available, so use it to plan your trips.
Wavewatch have a slightly different emphasis. Data stays very graphical with strong and informative animation/timeline features. Data is a little finer grained at the top level with the day divided into smaller parts. There's also a very impressive global overview and accessible spectral analysis data.
Wet Sand has a great spread of services. The Swell Watch forecast is integrated into the site, there's loads of news and links to webcams and there's lots of video content. This is a great all-rounder and a great place to catch up on what's going on in the surfing world.
Viewsurf.com have put together an impressive range of webcams up and down the coast and have also got an enviable range of cameras deployed in ski stations throughout France. A good place to check how Capbreton is working compared to Estagnots
Probably the third best Czech thing ever after Eva Herzigova and Pilsner Urquell. With high quality temperature, weather, swell, wind and cloud prediction this is the second most popular forecasting site that we see people using after Magic Seaweed.
